Description

The Global Sourcing/Procurement Intern will work both remotely and in Downers Grove, IL office. The candidates will be dedicated to the Global Sourcing/Procurement department within Elkay’s Supply Chain, but also participate in a supply chain project and/or rotation where they collaborate with and experience the other departments within the supply chain, including planning, logistics, and distribution.

This is a very flexible 12-20 hour per week position. You pick the days/times! AND, if you like it and are doing well, this could keep going into the spring!

The student will be exposed to both daily activities within the department and special projects, which may include the following:

• Identify potential sources of supply including determining the capabilities of a potential supplier

• Assist in preparing RFQs

• Write purchase orders

• Prepare presentations for supplier quarterly reviews

• Prepare supplier scorecards

• Creating management reports/dashboards

Qualifications:

Students in their junior or senior year working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, or Business Management strongly preferred

• Ability to work with others, but highly self-motivated to achieve individual tasks efficiently

• Excellent verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail a must

• Computer skills including excellent skills with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

• Familiarity with ERP system strongly preferred

• GPA desired: 3.0 or better

Salary Level: 17.50
